*ONLINE BUS PASS PURCHASING & PAYMENT SYSTEM*

Dear Parent or Guardian,

It's time again to order your bus pass or tickets if you wish your child to ride on a Dixie District School Bus for the 2011/12 school year. Home to School Bus Transportation offers families a safe, convenient and environmentally friendly way to get kids to school. We continue to offer the following options:

∙ One-way Annual Pass (for those who want to ride either mornings only or afternoons only)

∙ On-line registration and payment option

∙ Ticket books are still available

· Payment Plan Option (District Office only)

Unfortunately due to changes from our online vendor the payment plan option is no longer available online. However for those interested the payment plan is still available at the District Office and must be done in person.

We will accept credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover and debit cards) for payment when purchasing books of tickets, annual, semester, or a one-way pass. Credit Card transactions will be accepted when registering online and at the District Office between the hours of 9AM and 4:30PM.

Again this year, we will have a bus at each elementary site on Friday 8/19/11 – Kindergarten Orientation Day (see schedule below). Your kindergarten child will have the opportunity to board the bus, sit in seats and get familiar with the bus, so when they start riding they will feel a bit more comfortable. Transportation for kindergarten students is available the first day of a school.

To ensure your child's bus pass or tickets arrive prior to the first day of school (Monday 8/22/2011), we ask that you complete the application either online or with the paper form as soon as possible. Please be aware that some routes have changed and are subject to future changes as needed.

Option #1 - Purchase Online – For 2011-2012 school year, an on-line service, SchoolPay, will allow parents to use their Visa, Master Card & Discover Card to purchase Bus passes, with a 3% processing fee. The bus pass will be mailed to you in August. Please use the links in Box 1

We are also offering a Payment Plan option for the Annual and 1-Way Annual Passes. We are hoping this will make it easier on the families around the district by dividing the total prices into 3 payments. Please use the links in Box 2

Bus Safety

There is no safer way to transport a child than in a school bus. Accidents involving school buses are extremely rare events even though they make a remarkable 11 billion “to-and-from school” trips annually.

It is important that your child is at the bus stop on time. Keep in mind that if your child is late getting to the stop, it delays the bus route causing other students and their parents to become concerned. Keep in mind also that bus routes can vary slightly on a daily basis due to absences, traffic and field trips. Please allow for this by having your children at their stop at least 5 minutes before the scheduled time.

Green Diesel Fuel

Dixie District School buses use environmentally friendly “Green Diesel Technology”. This technology utilizes the benefit of a catalyzed diesel particulate filter and ultra-low sulfur fuel cutting gaseous hydrocarbons and particulate emissions by 99% and creating no-smoke, no-smell and near zero emission levels.
